At Northcote Primary school we REUSE, RECYCLE, REPAIR and REDUCE.
At Northcote Primary School we have a fantastic group of children who are our Eco Warriors. One child is elected from each class and they attend at least one Eco Meeting every half term. The Eco Warriors have a range of responsibilities in their classrooms and throughout school.
This year we are aiming to gain the Green Flag Eco Schools Award. We value contributions from children, families and other community members who have any ideas/projects that they would like us to get involved in so that we can become a green flag eco school. Please speak to Mrs McDermott to share your ideas.
At Northcote we are reducing our waste by collecting our fruit waste and putting it in the 'rotters' bins. These are then collected and made into compost. Every classroom has a fruit waste monitor. Well done everyone!
Planting trees in Walton Hall Park - February 2018
Year 5 recently helped the Rangers at Walton Hall Park to plant some new trees. They had instruction on how to plant the tree's, how deep the hole needed to be etc. There were a lot of trees in that Wheelbarrow, and Mr Norman enjoyed showing the children how to dig the hole, but we aren't sure whether he should have been wearing shorts in February..
