Hi and welcome to Class 11, Year 5 :)
Our teacher is Ms Mc Keown and Mr Debbazi is our LSA. We have lots to get through in year 5 to prepare our pupils for going to Year 6, and lots of fun planned to help us get there.
Important information for parents:
We expect all pupils to read x5 per week including once at the weekend, with someone at home who can support their reading strategies and discuss what they have read with them. Some of the more challenging reading skills we aim to develop in Year 5 include inference skills; reading between the lines and inferring meaning and author purpose.
Homework is given out every Monday and due in the following Monday. Pupils have the option of attending homework club on Monday's from 3.30pm till 4.15pm. Teaching staff will be available to assist the children and ensure progress is made throughout the year for each child.
Pupils are made aware of the importance of having PE kit for both lessons each week. If pupils do not have the appropriate kit, they are unable to participate fully in the lesson and therefore after school clubs will not be accessible to children who don't participate in lessons. We appreciate sometimes there are difficulties for children to have full PE kits.
Myself and Mr Debbazi are available to discuss any concerns or issues after school, or parents can communicate with us by leaving a message in their child's diary.
Thank you for your support, we look forward to a successful year of progress!
